A Scuty on the Status of Management among Workers Diagnosed as Hearing Loss in an Iron Foundry

Abstract
|
|
|
This study was carried out to evaluate the status of management after one year among workers diagnosed as hearing loss by periodic health examination on 1989. The study subjects were twenty two persons among those diagnosed as occupational
hearing
loss
and twenty eight persons among those diagnosed as non-occupational hearing loss. Questionnaire survey, otological examination and audiometric tests were performed.
@ES The results obtained were as follows;
@EN 1. One case (4.5%) among those diagnosed as occupational hearing loss and thirteen cases (46.4%) among those diagnosed as non-occupational hearing loss had ear disease.
2. Only, ten cases (20.2%) knew their result of periodic examination on hearing loss which was done one year before correctly. And follow-up management was not satisfactory.
3. Mean value of hearing loss was significantly decreased on 1990 compaired with one year before.
Thus it is postulated that comprehensive management plan and quality control on diag =nosis should be established for those diagnosed as hearing loss.
